~ Every CD and cassette tape offers 60 minutes of quality practice material.

~ All dictation is marked using the word count method. Each word counts as one word. The dictation speed on each CD or cassette tape does not fall below the speed indicated in the reference number.

~ Each dictation take averages between five and ten minutes in length. The challenge takes average two to three minutes in length.

~ For an extra challenge, up to one-fifth of the material may be five to twenty words per minute greater than the speed indicated in the reference number.

~ No material is repeated unless it is part of the DRILL series.

~ Testimony (Q&A) material is recorded with two live individuals.
